Setting up your free trial
Everything about your 30-day trial—setting it up, what's included, and getting more time if you need it. For the short version, see how setup works.
How do I set up a free 30-day trial?
To start your free 30-day trial, create your InOutBoard account. Answer a few questions about your company; you will become your organization's first user and Administrator.
- Select Settings in the side menu, then People and Places, and review Locations and Departments. Your account starts with one of each, Main Office and Management; rename them and add your own any time.
- Select Users. You are the first user. Select Add User to add people one at a time, or Import Users to bring in a whole list from the CSV template. The Users topic has the full steps.
- Select User Status Codes and review the defaults. Add, rename, or remove codes so they match how your team actually talks; status codes can be changed at any time.
To see what is left to set up, select Setup checklist at the top right of the Settings page. It lists the address and phone, your locations, departments and status codes, your users, whether everyone has signed in, and payment details, and each item ticks itself off once it is done.
That is a working board. A welcome email gives each person a link to set their own password: Add User sends one unless you clear Yes, send welcome email, and Import Users sends them only if you tick it. The trial runs for 30 days with every feature included.
What is included in the free 30-day trial?
Your free 30-day trial includes every InOutBoard feature. Paid plans also include every feature, with pricing based on your user count.
If you upgrade during your active trial, your users and data carry over to your paid plan—there is nothing to re-enter.
Need more time to evaluate InOutBoard? Contact support before your trial expires to request an extension.
What happens when my free trial ends?
If you have not arranged a paid subscription, your trial ends without a charge—there is no payment method on file to bill—and signing in stops working, with the login page pointing you to support. If you already arranged payment during your trial, billing follows the arrangement you selected: your license size, your billing frequency, and whether you pay by credit card or by check. See Setup, Payment, Licenses for how those are set.
Before your trial expires, you can subscribe through Settings → Payment Center: choose your user license and enter your payment details. Upgrading an active trial carries your work over—users, locations, departments, status codes, and status history—so there is nothing to re-enter.
Need longer to evaluate? Ask us for an extension before the 30 days are up. If your trial has already expired, contact us to confirm your reactivation options and whether your data is still available.
